How does install error cause that? If the unit was attached to the engine properly, what more is expected of the consumer on a presumably sealed unit?

Too make a long story short, the hub wasnt all the way in, and the reluctor ring ( I have a 96 cover, so that little thing needed to be in there) was rattleing around caused vibration, casuing opti to explode. I had just floored it and was on my way to redline then, poof, it got real quite.
