I'm sure your right about it being low on refrigerant, I reckon your right about topping it off to get it working again. Problem is, it looks like it has had a pretty serious leak and the residue is showing on the inside of the hood (I'll see if I can post a pic later)... so eventually I'm going to have to do a permanent fix.
