FWIW, given the rpm /flow limitations of a ported LTR setup and the H.P. peak of the LT4 hotcam +-6200, depending on who you listen to, after much reading and gnashing of teeth I decided to install the cam 4* advanced to theoretically lower the power curve about 500 rpm's. I think I succeeded and am very happy with the way the car runs. See the recent thread, "My '91 on the dyno". I do not know how the graph would look had I installed the cam "straight up".
Lobe center line comes into play also and where your intake valve closes etc. all things you have to consider for your specific cam..
