They might, but I must deal with CA smog standards, so I can't run'm. I have to run the factory manifolds, which have the cats integrated into them.

You see, the emissions standard follows the ENGINE, not the car. This means that if I put in a 2006 engine, it must pass 2006 standards. Simple.

This also means I cannot put an engine in from a prior year. Now, this gets a bit fiddly, let's say I have a 1994 Vette, and I need a motor, no one will really care I have put in a 1992 LT1. Follow? Those things are hard to track, and not even CARB cares to check numbers that closely.

But more accurately, I cannot put in an L98, for example.
