When I bought my prybar set, it included a large, pointy metal rod. Looks like a big ass pencil.

I used that to pry the c-beam into alignment with the rear end. The rear will start to sag a bit without the c-beam in alignment. You can wiggle the trans all you want, but it won't do it.

Jam that into the c-beam and the rear and you are getting somewhere. Don't be surprised if both holes don't quite align.

It can be annoyingly fiddly.
