LT1/4 offset oil adapters, differences. Just so you know. |
Subject: LT1/4 offset oil adapters, differences. Just so you know. by Steve40th on 2011/2/7 1:33:32 There are two basic offset filter adapters. The first one is a 92-93 version and is part number 10168445. It uses a 3 inch 5/16-a8 bolt with allen head to clear the body. The second is part number 14092398, and uses a shorter bolt, 1.875, same thread etc. The reason I posted this is I am reverting back to the offset adapter as I realized that the oil filter (PH5, or ac delco pf 1218, using standard oil filter adapter GM has used for many years) was almost right up to the header. I always noticed my oil got hot real quick after a couple quick bursts. I think having the filter right next tho the header may be contributing to it. Here is a picture of the two adapters, showing difference in height. I dont have a picture yet of the filter next to my headers, DRM 1 3/4. But I will soon. UPDATE: Here are a couple shots from a similiar Vette with Large filter and headers. |
