That's the method I was using. I like it other than killing myself turning the engine over by hand.

All the others on that side are still firm. I had a tick before all of this that I thought was coming from the messed up sparkplug threads on #8. That was one of the main reasons for pulling the heads. Maybe it was this lifter all along?

I think that I am going to lay the valve cover back on, fire it up for a few minutes and then check that rocker again to see if it still does it.
