3/8-16 is the diameter. A marginal difference in length won't matter.

I would not use anti-sieze. It will skew the actual torque at the thread and potentially cause damage to the aluminum. For example, if you have a 30 ft-lb requirement, dry, then expect anti-seize to increase that 40% at the thread!!! That's how slippery that stuff is. Your 30 ft-lb becomes over 40 ft-lb! Not good for those soft aluminum threads.

There isn't enough stuff going on there to cause the aluminum to react to the stainless. I have never had that problem.
