I completely missed this post back in February. I did this last summer on my '92. I got the first bolt out (the one on the "driver's" side) without too much problem. I probably spent an hour trying to get a wrench on the second one before I decided screw it, and lifted the fuel rails. Had the old valve out, the new one in, and the fuel rails buttoned back down fifteen minutes later. If you do decide to lift the fuel rails to get at the EGR, just make sure you smear a little bit of lube (I like dish soap) on the injector o-rings before you re-seat the rails and also make sure the rails go on straight and even before you tighten them back down. Then turn the ignition on but don't start it (this will activate the fuel pump and pressurize the fuel rails again) and check for any fuel leaks around the injectors. |
