Re: Top end swap on my 92 LT1 to the LT4 (fresh start)

Thanks guys, I appreciate the words of wisdom. Yes, I realize the risk of not beefing the lower end. My engine has 70K on it and if it does spin a bearing that will give me reason to build a nice little 383. I'm not a drag strip racer and only like the road course or auto cross fun days. However, that became much too expensive. So, I'm just running with my club on the open roads of North and South Carolina. Love those mountain roads in western NC. Besides, if I do spin a bearing, I'll be well practiced in tearing down my LT1/4. I have an electric water pump already so I'll be able to make more choices in timing chain set ups. I don't want to go through removing the tranny as that is another time consumming effort.

Changing compression ratio with head gaskets....hummmm...I have to look in on that.

The bottom line is that I'd like a little more fun in the fun pedal so I can keep up with the C5 and C6s, but still have a semi tame car in traffic.
