I have been fighting my own problem on the 84, MICE...I found droppings, insulation and a nest (was empty). I now have 5 dead mice and haven't seen any evidence of others. I haven't pulled the seats to look under them yet or have checked the blower motor another favorite spot for them I guess. I believe the only electrical trouble so far is the radio won't come on, the car will start and the gauges and dash lights work so I am hoping it's just wires ate...I am thinking of coming out to the corvette cup again possibly, haven't decided yet.
