Valve adjustment myths

Subject: Valve adjustment myths
by woody3882 on 2013/3/9 23:35:47

My next venture is to adjust the valves on my 94 c-4 I have no problems attempting it but I need some advise on the myths that were recomended to me. One recomendation was to find TDC, use the spin method and adjust valves intake 1,2,5,7 and exhaust 1,3,4,8 THEN rotate the crank one full turn and set all the rest. The other recomendation was to set TDC, do #1, rotate 1/4 turn, do number 8, turn 1/4 turn, do number 4, etc.etc. 3,6,5,7,2, with a 1/4 turn in between. Which is believed the best way. TDC do intake 1257, exhaust 1348, one full turn do exhaust 1,3,4,8 OR turn 1,4 turn between each 18,4,3,6,5,7,2, adjustment. If you have done this I am sure understand what I am trying to ask. Any advise is greatly appreciated
Thanks
Woody
