I got lucky. DOin' sorta' what I preach most AGAINST - PLUG N PRAY diagnostics.

Put in the re-worked tensioner (after doin' some cleanup and paint), and then spun it up.

QUIET - no chirp. In fact, it spun up immediately, something it rarely does, which is strange because I did nothing else (which seems to be a common problem after so many years; even lower mile, well tuned motors). But second turn, it took a few seconds...

Now time to try and learn coding.......
