| Steering Rack problem? |
Subject: Steering Rack problem? by lmchugh1 on 2006/12/23 5:17:24 I know my rack is bad becasue when it's cold out, the steering sticks (for lack of a better term). I'll turn the wheel and all of a sudden it feels like I don't have power steering, but only for a second. What I'm confused about is that when the steering sticks, the steering wheel with move about 2 inches...It makes a clicking noise when this happens. I get the impression that something is stripped on the column, has anyone ever heard of this? Also, if I turn the key to the "on" position to unlock the column, and then turn the wheel with the car not running, the wheel will rotate about two inches before it stops....before the tires even move. This stripping action occurs easily.. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?..Thanks. |
