I have noticed that at autocross my car is much more stable and has a lot more rear grip and I think you hit the nail on the head with your 2nd post. Also, I took the car to NH Motor Speedway (my home track) a couple weeks ago for a 2-day Time Trial. With the same (street) tires and brakes that I ran as last Oct, I picked up 2 seconds on my lap time! Now I also changed the springs from stock FE1 to Z51 over the winter but there is no doubt in my mind that this kit helped with rear grip and reducing my times.
