We throw away approximately 65 percent of all GM Multec cores. Each Multec is tested under a loaded (on) condition with a current load unit and a scope. (This test is repeated approximately four to five times per injector from beginning to finish.) Many bulletins have been offered from "The General" on this subject and why it occurs, but in reality it doesn't matter since they are the only injectors that have had this particular pattern failure; other units run for hundreds of thousands of miles without the problem! $350 is not in my budget right now, since I've put in well over a grand in new parts over the last four weeks, although a matched set sounds tempting. The Bosch units cost just a little more than getting mine cleaned -- but if even one of mine is bad ... |
