Hopefully I can help on the tire carrier.

On my 92 The long bolt at the rear is connected to a bracket held on with 3 bolts, 2 you can see the third enters from the back. That gets the main bolt completely off. The remainder is held on by 2 bolts in the frame on each side. Just unbolt and the entire carrier is off.
