Subject: Re: rebuildable front bearings! by SpectatorRacing on 2009/6/23 15:44:04 The price point is still too high at $650. I've come to terms with rear bearings being a wear item, like brakes and tires. I replace about 2 per season. I found a source that sells cheap-o's for $50 each. So that's 13 bearings before they pay for themselves. And there still isn't a rebuildable rear that I know of. Fronts last a couple of seasons...in fact, I've only replaced my fronts twice in 10 years. Of course only the last 5 were serious track use. In other words, the concept is sound, the cost is not justifiable. I'm guessing it's just as much work to take them off for a rebuild, so where is my savings? |
