Air Pump Delete Information

Subject: Air Pump Delete Information
by klkordzi on 2009/7/18 0:43:05

I'm in the process of doing some work on my 85's engine. Doing some cleanup, changing the cam etc. I'm playing with ideas for deleting the air pump and had been toying with not using a pulley to replace the pump but instead use a shorter belt. The problem was after figuring out the size I needed, how to translate that into a part number. I was playing around on Gates web site and noticed that the belt length for an 85 is 88.9 inches and the last numbers of the part number was 888 (KO60888). So I scrolled through the list of belts and found there was a direct correlation between the last numbers of the part number and the length of the belt. Also as long as you stayed in the same KO60 series you could find whatever length belt of the right width. I'm not sure if this is new information, but thought I'd share it anyway
