Re: Need help removing paint

Hi All,

I used gel paint stripper from home depot to strip the clear coat on my aluminum wheels on my 86 vette. It worked great. I used a brush to paint it on. It will wrinkle the paint in 15 minutes. Then wipe it off. I also sanded them and polished the wheels. Dont get it on plastic or rubber surfaces. That is the fastest and cheapest way to do it. If the paint on the wheels are fresh, try laquer thinner. Also, if you are going to paint or clear the wheel. Use high temp paint or the clear will yellow when the wheels get hot from braking. Good luck.
