As far as heat, this coating is rated to 1300 F and are coated inside and out which drops the manifold temp from 400-300 degress cooler than uncoated manifolds. The heat shields only cover the sides and warm air rises. So they don't do much for protecting wires to begin with. I will not know if it has any adverse effects until I start doing longer runs in the spring. I have standard 8.5 mm silicone wires and don't figure there to be any problems.
