Subject: 88 Tail Light Bulb Change by 92Beast on 2006/8/15 5:25:23 When I got my 88 two years ago, I called and asked the dealer how you changed the tail light bulb in the 88. They said take the two screws out. What &%@#$ two screws. There are no screws showing on the face of the tail light lense. And I asked more than one person at this dealer ship on more than one occasion. Stealership was really fouled up on this. I hate to think what they would have charged for the removal of the bumper because that is what they told me they thought they might have to do to change the tail light bulbs. Then I read my FSM. Took a while to find it and I still can not believe it. The book states you replace the inner two bulbs by removing the license plate and reaching up to remove the bulb holder, remove the bulb from the holder, select your new bulb and secure it in the holder and reinsert in to the light fixture. Do this all with one hand!!! Then the lulu. To get to the outer bulbs, remove the inner bulb fixture with your handy dandy 10MM socket and ratchet (by touch of course) so you can reach paste the location of the inner tail light fixture to the outer bulb and proceed as above. I was just researching this so if I did have to change my tail light bulbs I would know how to do it. I am sorry I was so persistent. Thank god I have not had to replace a tail light bulb in my 88.
