Subject: Re: ZF6 removal? by CentralCoaster on 2010/3/15 4:00:01 I'd go with the pennzoil synchromesh, which my research says is a relabeled bottle of GM's fluid that siperceded the original spec'd fluid. Keep in mind the thinner synchromesh will be noisier from the get-go, especially if you have a single mass flywheel. And regarding the castrol RS/TWS motor oil (assuming its even the same), the info I've found doesn't look reassuring. The castrol is thick and therefore quiet at first but thins out quickly anyways and I don't believe it is compatible with the synchro material. But you know what they say, opinions are like assholes. Rest assured neither I, nor GM, nor zfdoc, nor Zerdeifenazi Ferkensourkraut will be buying you a new trans if their fluid recommendation fails you. |
