Atleast the pump is really easy to replace! Fuel pressure drop could be caused by the regulator too though. if you can pinch off the return line run the long enough pump to pressureize the system. and see if it still drops if it holds then you know it's the regulator if it doesn't then you know it's either leaking though the injectors or the pump..

Or if your worried about the pump just replace it and re check everything.. if the pump doesn't fix it then you can trouble shoot it..
