Subject: Re: Head gasket leaking by BillH on 2010/9/30 13:40:31 Nice write up Jake. I think it's really the way to go with RTV, especially the squeaky clean surfaces. Any hint of oil/lube is bad for RTV, it will never adhere to the surface correctly. And letting it sit then re-torque is a must. This way does get you leak free sealing. Personally, I have switched to the Right Stuff. I've done a couple of intakes without the dimples, mostly because I wanted to see how well the RS worked. On my personal car, 15k miles and 3 years, zero leaks, nice and dry. "if it ain't broke don't fix it", totally agree. |
