Just noticed this. The math is not flawed. The "front spacing" I calculated is from the hub to the outer BEAD as stated. With this info the reader can compare a new wheel's published dimension to the existing one on their car.

Yes the bead is about 1/2" in on the wheels I've seen, but varies. If a wheel manufacturer publishes backspacing rather than offset then the reader should subtract 1/2" from the backspacing, and then they can calculate offset from that.
