What you could try is to pull the seat cushion and sit in the car with a helmit like ggrass. If that feels OK, you could pore a 2 part foam seat that would be much lower than stock. You could probably get away with using a 2 pint kit which, on line is only $20. Much cheaper than buying a race seat. I've pored 30-40 full seats doing this but have switched to poring beadseats.
