~~~3.90 Gears~~~
Subject: ~~~3.90 Gears~~~
by PLRX on 2011/2/22 22:18:25
The only one thing I did not mess with it, it's now a "must do". There is play on the driver's side yoke and it has to be fixed. If I dont fix it, it will start leaking gear oil and on the long run I'll have to do it anyways. I figure if it has to be fixed, this is the time for me to upgrade. Its a 3.45 from factory, the 4.10 I read many different opinions and a 3.73 is only 0.28 difference. I figure a 3.90 would give me a change like the the 3.07 gives to the 2.59 on the automatics transmission. My 92 was a 2.59 but, my 95 is a 3.07 and the second I stepped on it I knew there was something different and once I got on the freeway I confirmed it.
I think the 3.90 would eliminate some of the Magnaflow drone I get on the freeway.
I already removed most of the suspension components to remove the trailing arms and knuckle. Today I removed the exhaust, emergency cable, disconnected the driveshaft's U-joint and removed the C-Beam's bolts. Thanks to the ZFDoc's plates that was easy.
I got the whole assembly off, I got no idea how the
heck I'll put back in there b ut, I'll let you guys know.
I'll leave there hanging until I get paid in few days. :D
This part received an enourmous amount of abuse and I was able to pick it up
with my hands. I can't do that with the ZF transmission.
