OK, the 383 is dead
crank and watch for rockers to move and they stayed as still as rocks

So at least timing chain.
So no we come to the quandry:

Engine 1 - 383 with at least a broke timing chain
Engine 2 - 350 OEM with over 110K miles

Needs to be running in two weeks

Option 1 - replace timing chain on engine 1 and hope for the best. Can this be done with the engine in the car?

Option 2 - have the 350 refreshed, assuming it doesn't need bored

Thoughts?
