Re: Air Conditioning quit working....

I have a 92, which is still R12. I am going to update my entire AC system soon - over the winter at the latest.

The compressor, condenser, dryer, evap, lines are all 20 years old with nearly 180k miles on them. In short, they need love.

My goal is to update to R134 and use 1996 hardware to do it. Compressor, condenser and hoses. You see, metal is metal, but the rubber lines are not created equal! R134 is much smaller, at a molecular level, and as such will leach out of hoses designed for R12.

At the same time, my condenser is garbage. The bottom third has been compressed and crushed over time. Not very pretty... and it can't be working worth a damn, either.
