Subject: Re: i hate c4 hood latches by BillH on 2011/6/25 21:19:20 You can make the tool they used in the factory from a piece of 1/4 in round steel that you can get at Home D. The tool is a real pain in the ass but, it will work...eventually. Pic 1. the dimensions: the bent part that catches the latch lever is 1 in. , overall length 18 in. approx. , the handle 4 in (or whatever). It can be bent in a vise with just a prophane torch. Pic 2. shows the tool, it slips just under the hood edge with the door open and you have to feel around for the latch lever (ain't easy). hard to see cause the tool's black. Pic 3 shows where the 1 in portion hits the lever, then you have to twist the tool to operate the latch. |
