Subject: 87 MASTER CYLINDER OR SLAVE CYLINDER?? (new member) Help! by NorCalVette87 on 2012/1/3 8:34:09 Ok so I am a brand new corvette owner, I bought the Vette 6 months ago, and I love it!!! Originally I got the car as a investment, considering the engine was in great shape just needed interior work and some body and paint. But after doing the interior and getting paint there is NO way I will ever sell this car! Handles like nothing else I've driven b4! The other day I was driven home and I tried to shift into gear and it felt like it was jammed had to force it into gear to get home ( wasn't far ).. I got home turned the car off and tried shifting, it worked fine. Started the car up in gear and it jumped. The clutch pedal is soo soft now it feels like there is no resistance anymore. The clutch itself is under a year old but the previous owner didn't replace the master or the slave cylinder. I am guessing that it is one of these two but not positive so am going to change them both. My question is could it b anything else? Pilot bearing? I duno... Had a quote for 300 for labor and 120 in parts, told me it was a 4 hr job. Is this true? 4 hours to replace the slave and master? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! |
