What type of wrench do you use on this canaster to get it off without crushing it? Top picture is my filter in car have not removed it like the bottom picture.
Steve

A strap wrench - quite handy, I have a couple.
$7 at Harbor Ft.

My son and I were just talking about if harbor freight has one. When they open up this morning I will be the first in line.

If that does't work I will remove the whole unit put it in a vice and gently beat it to death with a big hammer.

Steve

Drill a hole thru it and stick a big ass phillips screwdriver thru the holes - leverage.

I thought that was an oil filter wrench. Being a red neck. Didn't think about it being universal.

Steve

I used it to open a pickle jar once.
