Yea, only 2 posts on them on NCRS, but nobody has a pic anywhere.

The NCRS is assuredly well intentioned but nonetheless amatuer in its approach. As a professional museum curator their work is SLOPPY and very unscientific and an insult to my profession. The 84 judging guide is ripe with errors (as any original 84 owner can tell you). The original owner survey was initially done by an 86 owner from NJ with zero attention to detail and corrections are a long time coming.
Perhaps they have since corrected their errors as its been a few years since I purchased their guide and tossed in in a drawer in disgust. I do not intend to waste any more $ on them :-P
It's truly a a wonder to me that anyone gives them any credibility at all...I can only IMAGINE the errors people believe as fact for previous years!

You speak with this great expertise... however, I have to put my faith on the NCRS vs your sour grapes.

Is it not possible the copy you saw was a first draft? I am sure that would be full of errors.

I'm with Bill on this... Nolan knows his shit and isn't about to let something 2nd rate come out with the NCRS name on it. I don't know him very well - we were both contributors to the former Corvette Enthusiast Magazine and exchanged a couple of emails on stuff - but he sure strikes me as a knowledgeable, direct yet compassionate, fellow. He would gently correct vs rub someones nose in it.

j3studio had his 85 judged several times and I never EVER heard him once complain that there was an error in the judging guide. And if you are getting car judged, I sure as hell would hope you know that car well enough to know what is right and what is wrong.
