the only area I would be worried about is the chunk of 50 in Nevada... the loneliest highway in the country...

pack a .357 and you will be fine...

If you have access to borrow a sat phone for that chunk, I would. I would do that with a new car. That's a long piece of road where people may not pass frequently. And cell service is spotty at best.

so you ain't coming down the coast this time? sniff.

oh, and exactly what time of year are you planning this run for?

I would also get new tires, if you haven't already.
