Re: How NOT to flush engine oil!

We spent the better part of the day working on the vette, however we did fall short of some of my expectations as well as ran into a couple of small issues.

Of the progress we made, we were able to completely finish the exhaust, move the sensors over onto our new throttle body, prime the engine correctly, and install A distributor. I am not really sure why but the specified Jegs distributor that was ordered did not fit. It was labeled for 85-91 TPI Engines however the plugs were different and the distributor sat way to high. I have no idea what would cause this. While down in the basement yesterday looking for something completely unrelated I stumbled across an HEI unit off one of his 87 corvettes of the past. The unit fit perfectly. He has so much into this vehicle already, I decided to stick with the HEI and return the aftermarket jegs version. I will take the return money and order a new MSD cap, rotor, coil to "boost up" (yea right, more like look better) the old distributor and use that. With that little bump in the road, most the day was used up. Still deciding if I want to wire in the MDS 6AL now with the HEI unit.

Here are a couple of pics of the most recent progress.
