On mine if I do not hold the button in until the lever is all the way down on the floor the E brake is still applied.

One thing for sure you certainly have patience. If this were my job I probably would have torched the sucker by now.

Have not checked the timeing. Thanks just assumed it was correct.

Did the brake thing on my old jeep it was smoking.
