I had a similar issue, but it wasn't the front. There are teflon coated washers between the half shafts and spindle in the rear. If they have been worn out, broken, or never there there is a prominent clunk. Sitting in the car I could have sworn it was under me, but someone outside the car said it was actually from the rear.

It is easy to change and you can get it from the dealer. I don't remember the part number, but it was only $5 each and took me less than an hour to change both. My car didn't have one of them.
