Could be the shifter
Mine has always felt kind of notchy
Rebuilt it twice thinking synchros (trans only had 1500 mi when I bought it) new slave, reconfiguring the geometry of the rod, throw etc etc

Never thought it was the shifter
B and M ripper when they first came out
Bet a Hurst fixes it. If not I got a stock one.

THey (b and M)are real notchy on the ZF so maybe....?
