If the clutch is disengaging that quickly, then it may not even be fully engaged to begin with. So ask yourself what could preload the pressure plate. I would expect anything tweaked in the linkage to do just the opposite of what you describe.

I think the pressure plate sounds more likely if mechanical.

Is the clutch pedal coming up fully to allow the port to the reservoir to open up? If it is, with the cap off you should see it squirt a little when you jab the pedal quickly.
