Plus Andy's pivot stud is pretty worn down. I hear that happens after 20 years of marriage. That moves the fork further forward.

Gook luck on removing it.

I was thinking, if you had a threaded collar, and a longer bolt of the same metric pitch, you could thread the collar onto the 1/4" of broken bolt, thread the longer bolt into the collar, tightening it, basically creating a "jam bolt" as opposed to a jam nut.. then perhaps you can unscrew it and pull the broken end out with it.

Then you can try removing the stud with a 1/2" hex drive. Harbor freight has a set with one: http://www.harborfreight.com/9-pc-38- ... hex-socket-set-67884.html That should have been our step 1.
