I can only go about 5" tall safely on the Z51 oil cooler, the M1-302 is almostt 5.75" I am running a Hastings now and ordered a Purolator pure one, wix (non racing), and a K&N. This time when I cut them open I'll take measurements. I stayed away from the wix racing because it has a much worse micron rating, which I guess makes sense for a race motor where flow filtration probably takes a back seat to flow rate. What I haven't determined is if in fact there's no use for a anti drainback valve on the 350. Yes it's mounted pointing up, but if it holds oil above it, I could still see a benefit. Hard to say as I don't know how the oil passages go. I also have a silver Fram laying around to try. Sad thing is I still see people recommending Delco. I guess they must've changed sources and most don't know it yet. |
