Under the dash on the driver's side is the connector to hook up and read the information on your car. You put a paper clip in A & B, which in my case is on the upper row and the 2 holes at the far right. You turn the key on after inserting the paper clip (don't crank it) and the "Service engine soon" light will start flashing. The first flash is 1 time and the 2nd 2 times to indicate code 12. It does this 3 times then it will flash other codes. When it is done flashing codes it will flash a 12 3 more times to let you know it is done.

You cross reference these codes in your FSM and it will tell you what is not functioning properly. I am assuming you read my earlier post. I was not able to get any codes.
