Let there be no light!

Subject: Let there be no light!

Well the Porcedes fix (don't you like that name, made it up) appears to have worked.

Looks like it was the Bosch Solenoid Relay 0332205003 (the silver one). ABS Light is now out and seems like all is normal though I haven't tried forcing the abs to handle a braking situation yet.

I did first the Pump Motor Relay - no difference. Then the Solenoid Relay and the light started working normally.

Easy to do: 4 Philips screws to remove the speaker cover (I do have a convertible), pull the carpet up and 7mm nutdriver to remove the screws around the perimeter of the speaker panel and lift the panel. T15 torx screw holds the retainer on the 2 relays on the pump. Pull the old relays, put in the new and put it back together.

No pictures as there's no visible changes to the car, what you start with is what you end with.

Hope that helps.

PS if you need the parts, look for them by the Bosch number on the relays, that's how I found mine. They were used in a number of different cars in the era and the Mercedes one was $19 and the Porsche was $7.75 plus shipping. I can live with that.
