Subject: Re: Fuel line size question by CorvetteBob on 2020/4/29 16:48:04 Addressing the rust in the lines, I’ve gotten some of the Rustoleum product to run thru the lines. The instructions say the surface to be cleaned need to be clean and the car hasn’t been driven in 15 years so I think there’s probably some gas varnish laying in the lines. Ok, so here’s my thinking, if I set up the lines with fuel hose to connect them at one end and get an elcheapo electric fuel pump and set it all up in a recirculating system. Of course there would be a filter at the end of each line with that system running thru a reservoir bucket to allow air to leave the system. My first application would be to remove any varnish/crap and the second the de-rust process, and thirdly water to rinse. Maybe a follow up of gas with stabilizer to purge the water and anything left in the kinks would be stabilized fuel. Probably use denatured alcohol for the cleaner . I’m certainly willing to entertain suggestions. I really DON’T want to fight with replacing the lines. Suggestion? |
