Subject: Battery draining by Qack on 2008/3/2 16:44:40 Hmmm. My battery drains after the car sits for a couple of days to the point that the car won't start -- it's a '94 Vertte. I have the FSM, have followed it's guidance and am now stumped. I know the following: 1. Generator checks out and is charging the battery 1a. While driving, the voltage -- as observed on the instrument - is between 14.2 and 14.4 volts 2. The battery was tested on a load-testing machine and is fine 3. I removed the battery from the car and let it sit for a couple of days -- it did not lose its charge. 3. Current drain when the car is shut off -- very low 4. There are no aftermarket items installed Any suggestions? Thanks |
