The old Yellow-bodied Accels do have a reputation for being junk. The redesigned Accels (silver body) seem to have a good reputation. "tjwong" over on Brand X has an interesting post: Quote: Just to set the story straight. Accel did have problems with their injectors awhile back. Since about 8 months ago their complete injector line has been revamped. All of their injectors are now utililizing a disc style valve mechanism. I have sold 300+ injectors in the last few months and not one problem. The new design is totally reliable. I beleive that they are made by the same company that makes the Delphi Lucas disc injectors. The bodies are identical to the Delphi units. Just like most companies, Accel doesn't actually manufacture their own injectors. Their old injectors were a bosch design with the common pintle valve, who made them I have no idea. |
