If you live in a real cold climate, use 0-30. If you are in the rest of the world, 5-30 and 10-30 are just fine.

Just don't run a super heavy oil... 20-50 is a bad idea!

Modern engines are so tight that thick oil might not make it around the tightly machined passages.

I met this knowitall at Sebring a few years back. He just got a Mitsu Evo. The first thing he was doing? Changing to 20-50 motor oil. What a maroon. I know it's a turbo, but 20-50 is so not a good fit.

I know that BMW uses 10-60 in their M series motors. That is some expensive stuff... 9.00 a litre!

Then for expensive? Shell Helix. That is what Ferrari uses.
