Subject: Re: Injector replacement. by CentralCoaster on 2008/4/16 23:28:11 Why do you think it needs new injectors? Anyhow, I sent mine to Rich at Cruzinperformance.com and he refurb'd and flow tested them for about $100. You'll have to wait for turnaround time though. He spoke highly of the 85 injector design. Some of the replacements don't have a good track record. Pulling the runners is tricky, the lower torx bolts are tough to get. You'll need a T-40 bit and some wobbly extensions. There's a bolt going into each runner from the backside. Cold start injector is a bitch, it has to come off first. You may need to do some gasket scraping on the uppers, if it's never been off before. Also buy an upper intake gasket set, it should have everything you need. If your throttle body still has the coolant hooked up to it, now is a good time for a throttle body bypass. Also you may have to pull the belt tenstioner off and loosen the a/c compressor bracket and pull it forward in order to get the fuel lines disconnected from the rail. Valve covers do not need to come off. |
