Subject: SO, here's how it all went down..... by jsup on 2008/4/20 2:27:51 If you remember the thread, I replaced the injectors and got a noise afterwards. After going through all kinds of isolation procedures to get to the noise, I prepared for the worst, that the bottom end was shot. Rather than jack up the car and lay on my back again I took it to my mechanic. Told him to pull the pan and see WTF is going on in there. I told him "sounds like cyl 7. He checked the rod bearings and all seemed fine. He disconnected the rod from seven and the motor spun and didn't bind....it seemed to turn better. I'm going to replace the piston and rod out of caution. The weather has been really nice lately so I told him to put the thing back together and give it back to me running. If I try to do it on my schedule it will never get done. |
